Preparate Orlando. WrestleMania regresa a City Beautiful.
World Wrestling Entertainment presentará WrestleMania 33, el evento anual, el 2 de Abril de 2017, en el Orlando Citrus Bowl. Esto This will mark the second time WWE has held the event in Central Florida, previously taking over the Citrus Bowl in 2008.
“It’s huge,” Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer said. “We’re a place that handles big, special events, and I think a lot of people don’t really realize the enormity of having WrestleMania.”
Orlando beat more than a dozen other cities that submitted bids to host WrestleMania in 2017, including Minneapolis, which was considered the strongest competition, according to industry sources.
In previous years, WrestleMania weekend has attracted as many as 125,000 visitors from all 50 states and more than 30 countries to its host city. The event has also generated more than $100 million in economic impact in each of the last four years, according to WWE.
In 2008, WrestleMania drew a Citrus Bowl-record 74,635 fans, with an estimated $50 million in economic impact for Central Florida, according to WWE.
That show had its challenges considering the condition of the stadium at the time.
The recent renovation of the venue helped the city’s effort to bring the event back to Orlando, said John Saboor, WWE’s executive vice president of special events.
